Should I try to make my own forum?

I have a forum myself, but it's more for writing fanfiction/roleplaying than anything else.

It's really up to you if you want to make a forum you should try to pick something you like, but at the same time, is somewhat popular. Owning a forum, is a hit time consuming too so try to make sure you have some time to out into it. You should see it as a long term project.

Patience is key too.

I used to run and moderate tons of roleplay forums when I was younger, and I remember that it took a lot of work, but it was worth it once the site was looking gorgeous and attracting enough members. You just have to know how to code and advertise.

Yeah, I totally agree with this. I'm fortunate to have a boyfriend who knows how to design forum skins in this situation. However, once the forum looks attractive and has some members, it is rewarding.
